the connection between the sight below and biosphere starts with the latters remix of >the sunset passage< from the >glider< cd, released on a limited 12” in 2009. >n-plants_remixes< is a superb extension of biospheres new touch cd as well as a fine release in its own right. only 300 copies have been pressed.

supported by luciano, timo maas, pig & dan, anthony collins, woody, dustin zahn. rifraf is rafael gimelstein, recently relocated from sydney to berlin, born in lithuania, raised in israel, flowered in sydney. classically trained violinist, deep as fu*k party organiser and creator of sydneys earthdance festival, rifraf is now full time producer making his distinctive sound in electronic music world. philosophy started as a casual recording of his granny klara telling stories about her time in a concentration camp in germany, and singing the yiddish song tumbalalaika and ended as a very intelligent moving sound collage. the whole peace is a trip, which feeds you constantly with changing noises and visions. although philosophy is transferring a lot of aural information, it is never telling to much and still works perfectly on the dance floor. its just an intoxicating musical tale which drives you on a wild journey. with the both remixes, one of alexkid with his deep as fu*k remix and phillip baders off runner the release get its pretentious dance floor alternatives. fifteen seconds close this fine ep, which rafael did in coop with the young israeli producer omer from tel aviv.

smm: context is the first release in ghostly internationals new yearly compilation series of evocative, open-ended music. the artists on context span the globe, straddling the intersection between classical minimalism, electronic and drone composition, film soundtracks, and fragile imaginary landscapes. in other words, smm: context relies on its listener to fill in the blanks, providing real-world context for its darkly emotional sounds. limited 180 gram vinyl + heavyweight jacket + inner art sleeves. includes some of the most well-established names in the ambient / drone / modern classical / home listening genre.

aux-rec is being launched by airdrop records as an offshoot label designed with a specific mission in mind: to look back and pay tribute. aux-rec surveys musical history looking for those inspiring pieces of music (famous or forgotten) that carry a very distinctive groove and identity, and that offer the potential to be revisited in an ingenious contemporary way. at airdrop, we love music of all ages and of many genres! we feel aux-rec is a way for our artists and for us to pay our due respects to the origins and the evolution of contemporary dance music.
the existing airdrop roster of artists will be invited to contribute to aux-rec, but different artists will also be uncovered specifically for this project. off to a fresh start, franco cinelli and club rayo (a duo composed by rafael sorol and pablo terreil) engrave their long-time friendship on this record. franco cinellis first productions were released on the duos imprint club rayo disquets at the beginning of the millenium. the club rayo collective has been extremely active in the local argentinean scene for more than twelve years now.
going back to one of music historys greatest classics, >fever<, franco cinelli and club rayo bring their own interpretations to a theme that has known as many versions than people taking a sing at it in the shower! using ella fitzgeralds and elvis presleys voices, club rayo create repsectively the fitzgerald mix - a rocking dancefloor jam looping ellas fantastic voice bringing it to a culmination - and the king dub - a 118 bpm groove punctuated by elvis low-pitched and resonant tone. cuerdas is a short guitar instrumantal rendition of the fever theme. on his remix, franco cinelli creates a 10 minutes drum symphony, especially designed for the post-climatic hours. both producers kept in mind ellas famous quote when undertaking this great enterprise: >i stole everything i ever heard, but mostly i stole from the horns.<
